New OCR/ICR Image System Released

The new fully integrated ICR/OCR Image version of Print & Scan has been released.This extension to the system combines the same ease, versatility and simplicity of use that is associated with other versions of the software.

It is a fully featured system with the ability to undertake a seamless operation from form design, through printing, scanning and analysis of results for all your surveys,exams,assessments and monitoring etc.It is also fully compatible with our other technology types such as OMR, Network, Email and Web to generate paper and/or electronic forms for the same tests, surveys, assessments etc. Features include:-

• Recognition based on the NCS Nestor engine for handprint, machine print and mark sense options with completely transparent zone definition coding. This eliminates the need to mark/ band where handprint, mark sense or registration marks are on a questionnaire reply form.
• Support for Pearson NCS iNSIGHT scanner or any ISIS scanner at 150dpi, 200dpi or 300dpi using SCSI/USB interfaces.
• Ability to read TIF file formats.
• Scanning in either batch mode or processed on-the-fly in real time.
• User defined handprint recognition/confidence criteria set to levels required.
• User defined fill levels for Mark Sense/OMR and the ability to define error trapping for blank/multi-marks.
• If using the Mark Sense option only, the same form can be scanned on either an Image scanner or an Optical Mark Reader as the data relating to the form number, database and personalisation are the same.
• Option to use the Nestor Image Engine's own form banding/design from Print & Scan with automatic linking back to the Print & Scan database.
• Key from image option whereby hand-written comment areas are displayed and information typed directly into the system.
• Score from image - whereby hand-written essay areas are displayed and the tutor/examiner can mark the work & enter scores directly into the system.
• Option to capture image clips, such as signatures, and to store them as cross- referenced TIF images.
• Option to combine image clip capture with key from image/score from image.
• Ability to archive complete Form Images and store cross-referenced TIF images.
• Ability to use other technology types (OMR or Web) to generate both paper and electronic forms for the same survey etc.
